On the second Saturday in January, we brought the first ever PC and console gaming event to Mladá Boleslav, called ŠKODA Gaming Day, and the Škoda Museum was bursting at the seams!
Already an hour before the official start of the event, a crowd of eager game enthusiasts began to form in the parking lot in front of the museum, which continuously grew to unprecedented proportions. In the end, the event was attended by over 1,500 great spectators who took pictures with their idols, raced with Honza Kopecký and, most importantly, cheered loudly throughout the day for the participants of the final battles in League of Legends, FIFA and NHL.
The event was also attended and the main prize in League of Legends was presented to the winning team by Bohdan Wojnar, a member of the Fund's Supervisory Board, who praised the level of cooperation and team spirit of the five-member teams and the overall electrifying atmosphere of the fully filled Laurin & Klement multifunctional hall. In addition to the visitors directly in the museum, thousands of other fans watched the final match on stream at one point.
The aim of the event was to show that an event of similar importance and size can be successfully realized not only in the biggest cities, but also to connect seemingly distant topics such as professional sports, gaming, education, fair-play or the world of the handicapped in one event and thus create an event not only for young people.
